Our Awareness Team

During the event, there is an awareness team that can be contacted both on site and online. The team is also available and approachable before and (at least 2 weeks) after the event.

You can contact the awareness team at any time. If you feel uncomfortable, if you have experienced something that goes against the Code of Conduct, or if you need someone to talk to.

We want to practise collective responsibility at this event. This means that we want everyone to intervene in cases of discriminatory and harassing behaviour or to support people who are or have been exposed to such behaviour. The awareness team is also there to provide support.

The awareness team is here to help you in particular if:

  • you have been harassed,
  • your personal boundaries have been violated,
  • you have experienced discrimination,
  • you have witnessed (personal or structural) discrimination.

The awareness team can, for example:

  • offer you a quiet space (on site) where you can withdraw (by yourself or with our company) and process what you have experienced,
  • support you in finding out what could help you best
  • try to clarify a stressful situation (as far as possible) (e.g. also by trying to explain to transgressors why their actions were transgressive)
  • accompany and support you in clarifying the situation

You can reach our awareness team by:

  • phone: tba (only during the event opening hours)
  • email: cfc_awareness@systemli.org
  • mastodon: @cfc_awareness@systemli.org
  • matrix: cfc_awareness:systemli.org
  • in person at the event

The awareness team works by the principle of partiality and victim-centredness. There are personnel overlaps with c3awareness and the team is guided by the principles set out on c3awareness.de

On Site

When you contact the awareness team, you will be offered to meet in person. This can take place either in the awareness room or outside. You are also welcome to bring someone you trust with you. You will then have the opportunity to talk about what is bothering you. You decide what you want to tell. Then we will try to find out together what you could do, how we can support you or what you currently need. The awareness team will not do anything without your explici consent and will not push or persuade you to do anything. Also, we will not tell anyone who you are or what you have reported unless we agree otherwise. If you prefer, communication can also take place in writing via chat.

Remote

When you contact the awareness team, you will be offered a video and/or audio call. You are also welcome to bring a trusted person with you.
Everything else is described above (for on-site).
The same team is available on site and remotely, i.e. the contact options are the same

Enforcement of the Code of Conduct

Participants who are asked to refrain from harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. In the event of harassing behaviour by participants, the organisers of the event reserve the right to take the necessary measures to make the event a pleasant environment for all participants.
The awareness team can make decisions about such measures in consultation with specific Haecksen selected in advance by the organisers. In the event of serious or repeated violations of the Code of Conduct, these may also result in exclusion from the event.
